Palo Alto, California-based startup Wald.ai on Tuesday announced the launch of what it describes as a contextual AI and data loss protection platform.

Wald has developed a platform that enables enterprises to use AI assistants such as Gemini and ChatGPT for business purposes, but not have to worry about exposing sensitive information.

Organizations can use AI to create content and query documents, and the Wald.ai platform automatically and accurately redacts personal information and proprietary data.

Sensitive information is replaced with intelligent data substitutions while it’s being processed — to ensure optimal results from the AI — but the original information is restored before the results are provided to the user.

“All user data processed by Wald is end-to-end encrypted to ensure that no one can ever access user data, including Wald,” the company explained.

The company has found that nearly one-third of business conversations it processes include confidential data.

The Wald platform is priced at $19.99 per user per month. A 14-day free trial is also available to interested organizations.

Wald says its product is already being used by companies in sectors such as healthcare, financial, and legal.
