Rockwell Automation on Tuesday published six new security advisories to inform customers about several critical- and high-severity vulnerabilities patched in its products.

In the FactoryTalk industrial automation software, Rockwell patched one critical- and one high-severity issue in View Machine Edition, and two high-severity flaws in View Site Edition. 

The FactoryTalk View Machine Edition vulnerabilities can be exploited for arbitrary command execution — the critical bug can be leveraged remotely while the high-severity bug can be exploited by a local attacker.

The FactoryTalk View Site Edition security holes can be exploited for local code execution and to access the system configuration without authentication. 

In the DataMosaix Private Cloud platform Rockwell addressed a critical vulnerability introduced by the use of SQLite (the flaw was originally patched in 2020), and a high-severity path traversal that can lead to the exposure of sensitive information.

The industrial giant also resolved a DoS vulnerability in the ICE2 controller, and a credential exposure issue in the PowerFlex 755 product.

One advisory describes CVE-2023-3825, a KEPServer DoS vulnerability exploited by Claroty researchers at the ICS edition of the Pwn2Own 2023 hacking competition. 

The US cybersecurity agency CISA has also published advisories for some of these Rockwell product vulnerabilities. 

There is no indication that these vulnerabilities have been exploited in the wild, according to Rockwell Automation. However, it’s important that organizations address the flaws as it’s not uncommon for threat actors to target industrial automation systems.
