Cloud and DevOps specialists IN4IT has launched a free-for-personal-use virtual private network (VPN) server, based on WireGuard protocols, with OpenID, SAML, and SCIM support.
The product joins a cloud product suite that aims to allow IN4IT customers to replace expensive cloud tooling with more affordable options.
The VPN server will be offered on AWS Marketplace, Azure Marketplace, DigitalOcean Marketplace, and GCP Marketplace and is installed manually (GitHub repo here). Personal use is allowed under a Business Source License (BSL).
For $2 per user, a licence can be purchased for production use under a business package tier. An enterprise offering is available to organisations that require high volume licences and that includes a support package.
The VPN integrates with identity providers like Onelogin, Okta, and Active Directory using OpenID Connect, SAML, and SCIM.
An administrator website allows you to create, delete, and suspend users. New users can download their VPN configuration for any WireGuard-compatible VPN client.
TLS encryption with Let’s Encrypt lets you easily establish TLS-protected traffic, while packet inspection (TCP/DNS/HTTP/HTTPS) allows the monitoring of VPN traffic and the ability to see the packet destinations.
IN4IT founder, Edward Viaene explained: “A key objective for IN4IT is to grow our new cloud product suite and we believe our VPN server can be a flagship offering in that collection. We are currently developing new cloud products, helping customers replace the most expensive cloud tooling with affordable alternatives and this means delivering robust core features at a fraction of the market price.”
