Today, we’re pleased to share that Google was named a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Cybersecurity Incident Response Services Report, Q2 2024. Forrester identified 14 top vendors in the cybersecurity incident response services space, assessing them on their current offerings, strategy, and market presence. Mandiant, part of Google Cloud, received the highest possible score in 17 of the overall 25 pre-defined criteria areas, including but not limited to incident preparation, recovery, ecosystem collaboration, innovation, and supporting services and offerings.

“A Google-boosted Mandiant maintains comprehensive, innovative end-to-end IR services…the combined forces are fueling innovation that allows the firm to support more clients more efficiently through automation, orchestration, and AI,” according to The Forrester Wave™: Cybersecurity Incident Response Services, Q2 2024 report.

Additionally, the report referred to our current business state as “Mandiant 3.0” and highlighted that Mandiant “continues to assist organizations and governments of all sizes and geographies in uncovering and ejecting sophisticated nation state attackers and opportunistic criminals alike, while helping security leaders effectively communicate with boards and executives throughout the IR lifecycle,” said Forrester.

The Wave report grouped its evaluation criterion into three high-level categories:

  • Current offerings: Google, with Mandiant experts who design and deliver these consulting services, scored the highest possible score (5 out of 5) in incident preparation, incident simulation, incident response, recovery, ecosystem collaboration, legal and regulatory compliance support, post-incident reporting and support, threat intelligence, cloud environments, OT/ICS environments, IR talent management, and contribution to the cybersecurity industry.

  • Strategy: Google scored 5 out of 5 in this category for innovation, supporting services and offerings, and talent strategy.

  • Market presence: Google also scored the highest possible rating for both criteria in this category of revenue and number of customers.

We believe Forrester’s recognition of Google as a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Cybersecurity Incident Response Services, Q2 2024, underscores the years of investment and critical support we provide before, during and after an incident — through incident response, strategic readiness, technical assurance, cybersecurity transformation, and training services that can help our clients advance their effectiveness in cyber defense and achieve cybersecurity resilience.

“We are proud to be named a Leader in Forrester’s 2024 Cybersecurity Incident Response Services Wave report. This recognition is a testament to our unwavering focus as Mandiant consultants to provide our clients with rapid, effective, top-tier detection, response, remediation, and long-term transformation services, backed by real-time threat intelligence and state of the art technology. Furthermore, the scale of Google Cloud enables us to broaden our scope, increase our speed, extend our reach, and enhance our capabilities, such as with the recent release of our Mandiant AI Security Consulting Portfolio,” said Jurgen Kutscher, vice president, Mandiant Consulting, Google Cloud.

The industry analysis firm also noted our agnostic approach to technology, which allows us to use our clients’ existing technology investments to respond to incidents faster. For clients who lack comprehensive visibility across their environment, Mandiant can help provide the necessary technology through a combination of our own products, our technology partners, and the tools we develop in-house. Mandiant offers flexibility for our clients across the globe with both short- and long-term engagements.

“Security and risk leaders needing a provider fluent in technical, executive, regional, and regulatory communication, that is on the front lines against complex adversaries, and at the leading edge of threat intel, should look to Google,” wrote Forrester in their report.
