Thirty-seven cybersecurity-related merger and acquisition (M&A) deals were announced in October 2024.
An analysis conducted by SecurityWeek shows that 178 cybersecurity M&A deals were announced in the first half of 2024, representing the least busy half year since SecurityWeek started tracking M&A deals in 2021.

Cloudflare has acquired cloud security, data protection and compliance company Kivera. Cloudflare said the acquisition extends its SASE portfolio to incorporate inline cloud app controls, empowering Cloudflare One customers with preventative security controls.
Data security company Cyera has acquired data loss prevention (DLP) startup Trail Security for $162 million in cash and stock. Trail has developed AI-enhanced DLP technology, which Cyera is integrating into its Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) platform.
Dragos acquires Network Perception

OT cybersecurity firm Dragos has announced buying Network Perception, a Chicago, Illinois-based company that specializes in network visibility solutions. The acquisition of Network Perception enables Dragos to enhance its platform’s network visibility, segmentation, and compliance capabilities.
Experian has agreed to buy Brazilian cybersecurity firm ClearSale in a $350 million deal. The acquisition will help Experian expand in Brazil and enable it to enhance its identity and fraud business here.
Ernst & Young (EY US) has acquired Dignari, a technology consulting firm specializing in identity and access management (IAM) solutions. EY’s commercial and government sector customers will benefit from Dignari technology. Following the acquisition, Dignari will be known as EY Dignari.
SIEM firm Logpoint has announced the acquisition of AI-driven NDR provider Muninn. Both companies are based in Denmark. Through this deal, Logpoint adds NDR capabilities to its SIEM-based cyber defense platform.
MSP Marlink has acquired Port-IT, a Dutch provider of cybersecurity solutions for the maritime industry. Following this acquisition, Marlink will create a dedicated cyber security unit, which will also include previously acquired Diverto.
Secure access service edge (SASE) firm Netskope is expanding its data protection solutions with data security posture management (DSPM) capabilities with the acquisition of Dasera.
Proofpoint to acquire Normalyze
Proofpoint has signed a definitive agreement to acquire data security posture management (DSPM) company Normalyze. The deal will allow Proofpoint to enhance its cybersecurity platform with Normalyze’s DSPM technology.
Socure, a provider of digital identity verification and fraud solutions, has announced a deal to acquire Effectiv for $136 million. The deal positions Socure to combat fraud and verify identities for its customers.
Sophos announced plans to acquire SecureWorks in an all-cash deal valued at $859 million. Secureworks’ Taegis XDR platform will be combined with Sophos’ managed detection and response (MDR) services to tap into lucrative markets across small, mid-sized, and enterprise segments.
