Benefitting from the openness of the Dynatrace platform, our partners can build custom solutions on top of the vast observability data ingested by Dynatrace, creating apps that address unique business challenges. This capability allows our partners to apply their domain expertise, solve real-world problems, and add value for our joint customers. By leveraging the secure and governed Dynatrace platform, partners can ensure compliance, eliminate operational burdens, and keep data safe, allowing them to focus on creating custom solutions that add value rather than managing overhead and underlying details.

For the 2024 Dynatrace Partner App Competition, we invited all our partners to showcase their ingenuity in developing impactful apps that solve real-world customer use cases using Dynatrace AppEngine. Unlike last year’s competition, which was limited to Dynatrace Pro-Club members, this year’s challenge was open to all Dynatrace partners. We’re thrilled to announce the winners of this competition, who demonstrated exceptional innovation and creativity in their solutions.

Partners add value to the Dynatrace Platform with native solutions for custom use cases

The leading entries in the competition demonstrated their ability to solve complex business challenges while delivering great user experiences. All winning apps add significant value to the Dynatrace Platform by implementing custom use cases as native apps powered by AppEngine.

This year’s winner: MS Teams Observability

The winning app, MS Teams Observability, by our partner Phenisys, helps customers ensure a seamless, high-quality Microsoft Teams experience with real-time insights. Many large organizations rely on MS Teams for fast and efficient communications, making its reliability critical for smooth business operations. By providing accessible telemetry data and scalable analytics, MS Teams Observability empowers helpdesk and operations teams to efficiently manage and resolve MS Teams performance issues and restore normal operations.

This is a great example of how partners can customize and extend the Dynatrace platform for business-critical use cases using the same tools as Dynatrace developers. Naturally, we were really excited to meet up with the Phenisys team at Perform to personally hand over the well-deserved award.

Hot on the heels: Spica Solutions and Your Compass

The intense competition made it difficult to choose between first, second, and third place. Spica Solution’s CMDB app secured second place because it effectively addresses a significant business need. The app reuses the observability data that customers already have available through the platform, making it a more reliable, secure, and cost-effective solution compared to exporting data to another CMDB system, which would require additional management.

Third place goes to Your Compass for its Patch & Inventory Management app, which enables customers to get an overview and track the support status of their hosts’ operating systems and receive alerts as they approach end-of-life.
